Speaking from experience, it’s the little things that chip away at your day, and cause production to decrease. You see… without proper planning and scheduling of task you could literally spend hours of unproductive man-hours surfing the net, checking messages, and hanging out.

Now… let’s look at what you can do to burst through that brick wall, and gain control of your business.

Eliminate Distractions

  • Email can be a real time waster, so make sure you schedule time slots for checking emails. Also, make sure to have one email set as a catch-all account to prevent logging in to several accounts.
  • If you’re on several email list, then hit the unsubscribe button (on some) and focus on the ones that really over deliver.
  • Unlink your mobile device from Face-book and Twitter, then set a timed interval for logging into your accounts. (This process can be semi-automated.)
  • Although, forums are great for education and getting a pulse for your market, spend no more than 30 minutes a day in your favorite forum.
  • When it’s time to get down to business, isolate yourself from family and friends, so you don’t break your train of thought. This is HUGE!
  • Prioritize for Productivity

  • Set 30 minutes aside every evening or night to plan out the next day. This will stimulate the brain and allow you to be creative in a dream state. Furthermore, you’ll wake up with direction and purpose each morning.
  • Make sure you keep your to do list small and be realistic with your daily goals. Don’t set daily task that can not be accomplished in a day.
  • Tackle the the toughest or most important task first, then knock out some of the smaller ones before completing another really hard task. This way you’ll feel productive, and enthused about your accomplishments.
  • If you’re not able to unlink your mobile device from Face-book and Twitter (considering your business depends on the social networks), then turn your cell phone off during scheduled work hours.
  • Make sure to use a timer for keeping track of your work schedule. Focus on one task at a time for 45 minutes to an hour, with schedule breaks for 10 to 15 minutes before moving on.
  • Do what you love and outsource the rest.
  • Of course, no situation is identical, but everyone hits that brick wall in their business and needs to put their actions under the microscope.
